FCT Customary Court of Appeal Inaugurates Newly Elected JUSUN Executive Committee
The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), FCT Customary Court of Appeal Chapter, today 13th February 2026, successfully conducted elections into its Executive Committee during a well-attended Congress Meeting convened for that purpose. The exercise saw the dissolution of the incumbent Executive Committee and the election of new members, with most of the immediate past executives returned unopposed.
The Congress was graced by the Hon. President of the Court, Hon. Justice Adekunle Stanley Lawal, FICMC, F.DRI, alongside Hon. Judges of the Court, the Chief Registrar, and management staff. The National Vice President (North Central) led a delegation of National Executive Members to observe the proceedings.
Declaring the Congress open, His Lordship, the Hon. President, admonished members to vote according to the dictates of their conscience, stressing that their choices would determine the caliber of leaders to pilot the Union’s affairs. He emphasized that he had no preferred candidates and expressed readiness to work with whomever the members elected.
Representing the JUSUN National President, Comrade Marwan Mustapha Adamu, the National Vice President (North Central) commended the giant strides of Hon. Justice Adekunle S. Lawal, particularly in staff welfare. He noted that reports reaching the National leadership indicated that staff of the Court had never had it this good. He urged members to remain of good conduct, abide by the Public Service Rules, and view the Union as a partner to the Court’s leadership rather than an antagonist.
The newly elected members of the Union were immediately sworn in, with the National Legal Adviser administering the Oath of Office.

7. Awarah Biweribo - Asst. Financial Secretary
8. Haliru Abdullazeez - Treasurer
9. Olaitun Okedun - Publicity Secretary
10. Abdulkadir Shaba - Legal Adviser
11. Amoto Sunday - Ex-Officio Member
