Bwari Zonal Court

The Bwari Zonal Court is one of the four zonal courts created by the Customary Court of Appeal of the Federal Capital Territory to decentralize justice delivery and reduce the burden of travel for litigants in rural areas.

Situated in Bwari Area Council, this zonal court holds periodic sittings to adjudicate customary law matters, appeals from local Customary Courts, chieftaincy disputes, and other related cases originating within its territorial jurisdiction. This initiative supports the broader objective of bringing justice closer to the grassroots.

Jurisdiction & Functions

The Bwari Zonal Court handles:

All proceedings at the Bwari Zonal Court are conducted under the supervisory jurisdiction of the Customary Court of Appeal Headquarters in Utako and follow the same procedural rules and application of customary law as the main court.
