Litigation Department

Overview

The Litigation Department is the core operational unit responsible for managing all court processes, case management, and judicial support services at the Customary Court of Appeal, FCT. It ensures smooth court sittings, accurate record-keeping, and efficient handling of appeals and litigation matters.

The department works closely with the Bench, registry, and other units to uphold procedural integrity and facilitate timely justice delivery.

Duties of the Litigation Department

  • General Administration of the Court Registry

  • Management of Court Record

  • Management of Court Process

  • Maintenance of Record Book

  • Making arrangement for Court sittings and assisting the Bench in Court

  • Administering Oaths and Affirmations

  • Compiling Court Judgements

  • Any other duty assigned to the Department
