Gwagwalada Zonal Court

The Gwagwalada Zonal Court is one of the four zonal courts established by the Customary Court of Appeal of the Federal Capital Territory to decentralize the administration of customary justice and improve access for rural and semi-urban communities.

Located in Gwagwalada Area Council, this zonal court conducts periodic sittings to adjudicate customary law matters, appeals from local Customary Courts, chieftaincy disputes, and other related cases within its jurisdiction. The zonal court system helps reduce the logistical and financial burden on litigants who would otherwise have to travel to the Headquarters in Utako.

The Gwagwalada Zonal Court handles:

All proceedings in the Gwagwalada Zonal Court are conducted under the direct supervisory jurisdiction of the Customary Court of Appeal Headquarters in Utako and follow the same procedural rules and principles of customary law applied throughout the FCT.
