Planning, Research & Statistics Department

Overview

The Planning, Research & Statistics Department is responsible for strategic planning, policy research, data collection, statistical analysis, and performance reporting at the Customary Court of Appeal, FCT. It supports evidence-based decision-making, monitors court performance, and provides data-driven insights to enhance judicial and administrative efficiency.

The department compiles statistics on case disposal, court activities, and other metrics, conducts research on customary law trends, and assists in long-term planning for the Court’s development and resource allocation.

Duties of the Planning, Research & Statistics Department

• Planning, organizing, and managing research and statistical activities

• Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting court data and performance statistics

• Conducting research on customary law, case trends, and judicial policy matters

• Preparing reports, statistical bulletins, and planning documents

• Supporting strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation decisions

• Any other duty assigned to the Department
