Inspectorate Department

Overview

The Inspectorate Department is responsible for monitoring, supervising, and ensuring compliance across all Zonal Courts and Customary Courts under the jurisdiction of the Customary Court of Appeal, FCT. It plays a critical oversight role in maintaining standards, quality of justice delivery, and procedural integrity at the grassroots level.

The department conducts regular inspections, handles petitions from litigants, disburses materials to zonal courts, and investigates complaints to uphold fairness and accountability in the customary justice system.

Duties of the Inspectorate Department

• Supervising the activities of the Zonal Courts

• Disbursement of Stationaries, electronic and other materials to the Zonal Courts

• Inspection of Courts Proceedings from the Zonal Courts

• Receiving and investigating petitions from litigants against the Rulings/Judgments of the Zonal Courts
