Audit Department

Overview

The Audit Department provides independent, objective assurance and consulting services to improve the Customary Court of Appeal, FCT’s operations. It evaluates and enhances the effectiveness of risk management, internal controls, governance processes, and financial compliance.

It conducts pre-payment and post-payment audits, revenue audits, asset verifications, and value-for-money assessments to ensure institutional integrity and prevent financial irregularities.

Duties of the Audit Department

• Pre-payment auditing of all vouchers and disbursements

• Post-payment audit and verification of financial records

• Physical inspection of procured assets, projects, and store inventory

• Verification of internally generated revenue (IGR)

• Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and circulars
