GABRIEL MAHA- PROFILE. A graduate of the University of Abuja, Nigeria, Gabriel Maha was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in November, 2006. He had his mandatory National Youth Service at the Bauchi State House of Assembly after which he was engaged in Private Legal Practice and Law Publishing. He also lectured briefly at his alma mater, the University of Abuja before taking employment at the FCT Customary Court of Appeal in May, 2011 as a Principal Registrar on SGL 12. At the Customary Court of Appeal, he was assigned to the Hon. President’s Chambers as Special Assistant, Research & Legal, with additional responsibilities of coordinating the Hon. President’s official engagements. He has served in that capacity ever since and is currently working with the 3rd President. In the process, he has risen through the ranks to the position of Deputy Chief Registrar and in 2022, his was appointed as the Head of Department of the newly created Special Duties Department of the Court. He has served in various Committees of the Court including but not limited to the Law Report Committee, Rules Review Committee, National Judicial Council (NJC) Steering Committee on Judiciary Investment, amongst others. He also serves as Secretariat Assistant to the Forum of Grand Kadis & Presidents of Sharia & Customary Courts of Appeal in Nigeria. Gabriel Maha is an Associate of the National Institute of Chartered Arbitrators. He is happily married and the marriage is blessed with beautiful children.
