HON. JUSTICE (DR.) NGOZIKA UWAZURUNONYE OKAISABOR (NEE AGUTA) - JUDGE
Hon. Justice (Dr.) Ngozika Uwazurunonye Okaisabor (nee AGUTA) was born on the 13th of May, 1967 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State to Hon. Justice & Mrs Richard Uwa Aguta.
He embarked on his educational pursuit in 1973 at Amaifeke Primary School, Orlu, Imo State and completed his Primary Education in 1978. His lordship proceeded to Owerri Girls Secondary School from 1978 – 1983 and thereafter gained admission into Imo State University, Okigwe in 1984 to study Law. After a successful completion of his course in 1988, His Lordship gained admission into the Nigerian Law School, Lagos wherein he successfully completed his Bar Exams and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1989.
In furtherance of his educational pursuit, his lordship proceeded to University of Wisconsin Law School, Madison, Wisconsin, USA where he obtained a Masters in Legal Institution in 1998. His lordship thereafter proceeded to John Marshall Law School Chicago, Illinois, USA where he obtained a Masters in Law in 2001 with specialization on International Business and Trade Law in 2001. With a passion to continue in his educational pursuit, his lordship completed his Ph.D. at Trinity College, Delaware in 2006.
Hon. Justice (Dr.) Okaisabor started his work career at the Federal Ministry of Justice as a Research Assistant in 1990. He thereafter was appointed as a State Counsel in 1992 and served in the Department of Public Prosecution from 1992-1994. He served also as a State Counsel in the Department of International and Mercantile Law where he was posted to the Nigerian Customs Service as Assistant Legal Adviser in 1996 and was posted as Assistant Legal Adviser of the Federal Ministry of Information and Assistant Legal Adviser Federal Ministry of Science and Technology.
In 2002, he was appointed a Training Coordinator for National Centre for State Courts based in Arlington Virginia, under the auspices of USAID. He then progressed in his career as a Legal Adviser and was posted to National Primary Health Care Development Agency in 2004 and Legal Adviser Federal Ministry of Information and Communications (Communications) in 2007.
In 2009, his lordship was elevated to the Bench as a Judge of the Customary Court of Appeal, Federal Capital Territory Judiciary. As a Judge, his lordship has served as a member in Election Petition Tribunals in Kaduna and Ilorin. His lordship has also attended several local and international Workshops, Conferences and Seminars. His lordship has served as a resource person in both National and International Seminars, Workshops and Conferences such as National Judicial Institute (NJI), The Cambridge International Symposium on Economic Crime, Cambridge, UK amongst others. His lordship is a Fellow of the Charted Institute of Arbitrators, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators and a Fellow of the International Dispute Resolution Institute. His lordship is a member of World Jurist Association, a member of International Association of Women Judges and National Association of Women Judges amongst others.His lordship enjoys Golfing, Reading and Badminton.
